When the parents move into a retirement home or die, it is often the children who are responsible for clearing the parental house and organising its sale. With the physical disappearance of the parents, the house becomes a cocoon of old memories. The longtime guarded parental privacy is exposed. The old and often worn-out household items slowly disappear under a thin layer of dust, until the buyers take them outside and the wind blows away the dust and attached memories.
